Hi, my name is Sebastián Sclofsky, I am an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at CSU, Stanislaus. I teach courses on Criminology, Social Theory, Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement. My research focuses on law and society, state violence, in particular police violence, race and racism, and social inequalities.My recent research focuses on the effects of policing and police violence on low-income communities, in particular Black communities. I am also interested in the development of policing strategies in Latin America and Latin American politics in general, in particular the development of punitive and security strategies in Uruguay, and how they affect Black people and low-income communities.
